The first time I came to Rovinj was almost 10 years ago when I spent the summer in Bosnia to visit family and friends. By chance I ended up in Rovinj for an impromptu trip, that was only a couple hours away. Upon arrival to Rovinj I was so mesmerized by it’s romantic cobblestone streets that seemed to be packed in so tightly with buildings. The town has a relaxed feeling that cherishes eating dinner with friends and sipping wine outside on the patio restaurants. You will fall in love with it instantly.
One of the best beaches in the world, that has not been known to most Americans until recently it seems, are the beaches of Croatia. Long known by many Europeans as the equal to the French Riviera is the Croatian Riviera ( much much cheaper as well!). Abundant with many islands and crystal clear blue waters, Croatia is a place that could please everyone’s beach wishes. From secluded islands, to popular tourist spots with hundreds of cafes to sit around and people watch. Croatia is one of the top places to vacation in the world.
My husband lived in Chicago when we met and we had a long distance relationship for 2 years before we got married. I had my fare share of trips to the city over the years while visiting family and friends after he moved to Atlanta with me. It’s one of the few cities that will always have a special place in my life. Recently we flew up to Chicago for the weekend for a friends birthday. Here’s a list of things to do, eat, and see if you are in the city for a limited time over a weekend.
We spent a few days in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina last weekend. I visited Charleston many times and Savannah as well which are very close by, but Hilton Head Island was never on my radar until we were invited by family to come and spend a few days with them on the island. Of course we couldn’t refuse and packed for the trip!
While my husband and I were visiting family in Zagreb, Croatia we decided to take a short trip to Budapest, Hungary. A train ride seemed like the best and cheapest option so we bought tickets at the train station and headed on our way (you can buy the tickets online on Rail Europe here as well). Before we headed out on our trip to Budapest we booked our stay through the website Jetsetter.

As we were waiting for the bus to pick us up from our hotel for our scheduled visit to the Blue Lagoon I was thinking in the back of my head that we might not get picked up again. However, I can say that on our final and 4th day we finally made it to one of the 25 wonders of the world! The well known Blue Lagoon!
Part 2 of our Iceland travel itinerary started off with a early morning drive from Reykjavik through south Iceland. An hour into our drive we were greeted with the most spectacular sunrise. So many people were stopping on the side of the road to take pictures, that we had to join in too. We stopped at a few stops to admire the sunrise, especially once we arrived to a valley before the waterfalls. The sunshine was interacting so beautifully with the mist in the valley that it looked like the whole valley was lit. Truly spectacular!
Iceland is such a spectacular country with beautiful landscapes. My husband and I went in November for our 5 year anniversary. We’ve always wanted to go but never really found the right time. We were a little hesitant to go to Iceland during the winter, but I’m glad we did go during that time! Before we left we created a Iceland Travel itinerary so we can stay on track and see all the sights that we wanted to. Here is a rundown of how our trip of a lifetime planning went.
