7 THINGS TO DO IN ZADAR WITH THE FAMILY

July 31, 2018

Zadar is another Croatian coastline gem that is very similar to Split, but slightly smaller in size. It’s flat landscape makes it perfect for families for relaxing strolls through the town. The Limestone treatment on the streets and as building material gets illuminated at night by streetlights and open air cafe’s for a romantic vision of a historic town. Out of all the towns we visited in Croatia I would say that Zadar was most kid friendly. Only because they had this super fun fair type park next to the sea where children could ride carnival rides, jump in bouncy houses and play on the playground. Here is my top 7 list of things to do in Zadar with the family during the Summer.

THE SIGHTS IN SPLIT

July 29, 2018

Split by far was one of my favorite cities in Croatia. Not only is it beautiful in it’s architecture, it’s also very walkable with not that many steps. One of my favorite things about Adriatic cities such as Split is that they are all covered in limestone, from the long street walks and town squares, to the old buildings and steps and stairs. It really gives it such a rich and pleasant feeling when you stroll the streets especially at night with all the light’s reflecting.

THE ROMAN ARCHITECTURE IN PULA, CROATIA

December 1, 2017

A short drive from Medulin is the city of Pula. A heavily influenced ancient Roman area where you can still find an abundance of gorgeous old Roman architecture. When looking at a map the town is set on the tip of the Istrian Peninsula. It’s more modern as opposed to Rovinj which has more of a charming character with its hilltops populated by narrow streets. In Pula, you can stroll the streets that are not on an incline in a fairly modernized city. If you have small children Pula is a great city as you won’t need to drag strollers up and down stairs since it is mostly flat.

A DATE NIGHT IN ROVINJ, CROATIA

October 23, 2017

The first time I came to Rovinj was almost 10 years ago when I spent the summer in Bosnia to visit family and friends. By chance I ended up in Rovinj for an impromptu trip, that was only a couple hours away. Upon arrival to Rovinj I was so mesmerized by it’s romantic cobblestone streets that seemed to be packed in so tightly with buildings. The town has a relaxed feeling that cherishes eating dinner with friends and sipping wine outside on the patio restaurants. You will fall in love with it instantly.

One of the best beaches in the world, that has not been known to most Americans until recently it seems, are the beaches of Croatia. Long known by many Europeans as the equal to the French Riviera is the Croatian Riviera ( much much cheaper as well!). Abundant with many islands and crystal clear blue waters, Croatia is a place that could please everyone’s beach wishes. From secluded islands, to popular tourist spots with hundreds of cafes to sit around and people watch. Croatia is one of the top places to vacation in the world.

My husband lived in Chicago when we met and we had a long distance relationship for 2 years before we got married. Here’s a list of things to do, eat, and see if you are in the city for a limited time over a weekend.

February 9, 2017

While my husband and I were visiting family in Zagreb, Croatia we decided to take a short trip to Budapest, Hungary. A train ride seemed like the best and cheapest option so we bought tickets at the train station and headed on our way (you can buy the tickets online on Rail Europe here as well). Before we headed out on our trip to Budapest we booked our stay through the website Jetsetter.
